ASM Takes Home the Top Prize—the VA Prime Award — for its Contribution to the SMT-Assembly Industry

SHENZHEN—26 Aug 2020—ACT International announced the winners of the 14th VISION Awards program at NEPCON Asia (Shenzhen) earlier today.

Sunny Xue, Technical Chair of the 14th Vision Awards Judging committee, and Senior Consultant of SMT China magazine, presented the Awards. The awards program honors products among the nominated entries that will significantly contribute to the SMT-assembly industry, as judged by a panel of well-known SMT experts and dedicated SMT China readers.

Highlighting the ceremony, Xue presented The VA Prime Award to the DEK TQ Printer from ASM. The DEK TQ Printer attained the highest overall score of all the entries judged, across all product categories.

In addition, Xue presented Chinese Achievement Awards to the Vayo-Stencil Designer V5 from VAYO and to the V5300 Double-sided AOI from MagicRay. These two products attained the highest overall scores among all entries submitted by Chinese companies. 

Furthermore, Stanley Wang, Chief Editor of SMT China magazine announced the winner of this year's Editor's Choice Award was ASYMTEK Forte™ Series Dispensing System from Nordson ELECTRONICS SOLUTIONS.

This year for the first time, three "Internet Choice Awards" were also presented. SMT China readers and professionals from the whole country voted online to select the following three winning products: Smart SMT Shelf from Kunshan Ennoconn, United Management System from C.I.T., and Conformal Coating AOI from Linkways.

The Vision Awards program is the only international accreditation for the SMT-assembly industry in China with participation and support from both international and domestic suppliers serving the industry with the winners being judged by technical experts in the field, senior executives from the downstream industry, and dedicated SMT China readers.

The program was initiated in 2007 to recognize as benchmarks of excellence significant products within the SMT-assembly industry. The entered products were judged on their innovativeness and their contribution in helping the downstream industry to reduce costs, improve product quality, increase production efficiencies, and enhance product reliability. In addition, points were also awarded to entries that ensure worker safety, protect the environment, and their expected overall impact on the industry.

The panel of judges select the winners of the VA Prime Award, the VA Chinese Achievement Awards, the VA Innovation Awards, the VA Excellence Awards, and the Vision Awards. SMT China's editor picks the Editor's Choice Award winner, and the Internet Choice Award winners were selected by online readers.

This year was the first year of deploying electronic voting system, purposed to provide a much broader coverage over qualified experts and companies to participate in the Vision Awards program.
